We’re stretching our wings to make our way to the exposition in Southern Africa to share our knowledge. Whether it is for agricultural, DIY, building, construction, fencing use or any other type of application.
So far we’ve traveled to two expositions, and we’re looking forward to the next exposition on our calenders! Will you be there?
What the Treated Timber fundies have been up to so far with regards to expositions:
As we mentioned before, we’ve already visited two expositions. We love being a part of these events as it gives us a chance to reach out to our loyal customers.
The first exposition we went to is the EST Africa Tradeshow:
EST (Elite Star Trading) Africa Tradeshow and Sabie Poles Treated Timber
So some of you might not know who Elite Star Trading is. Well, here is what they are all about:
“Elite Star Africa is a voluntary association of member shareholders, with a focus on improving the trading term packages, which suppliers allocate to independent traders. The association has adopted a transparent business formula allowing both members and suppliers to reach their full potential. Our members include independent wholesale and retail businesses within the building, hardware, and general merchandise.”
Elite Star Trading has over 440 retail stores in the hardware and DIY division.
Therefore, when we were invited to this exposition, we were thrilled to be a part of this amazing group’s exposition! Next, we headed off to BUCO’s wood division’s grand opening in Nelspruit.
BUCO Wood Division Opening exposition:
BUCO is one of the leading retailers for all your hardware needs. They are a well-known outlet
in Southern Africa for a good reason. They only stock the highest quality products!
Therefore, we headed over to their new wood store’s grand opening in June! They now have a fully stocked wood division to suit every customer’s needs.
“The BUCO philosophy of ‘Let’s Build Together’ encapsulates the importance and focus we place on building genuine partnerships with our customers – from our day-to-day contractors to our DIY enthusiasts – we have the merchandise and expertise to help you create a masterpiece.” – BUCO
That’s what we’ve been up to so far!
But that’s not all!
Next, we’ll be heading over to an amazing Golf Day exposition in Hazyview at Sabie River Sun.
BUCO Hoedspruit will be hosting this massive golf day/tournament and we’ll be there. Buco Hoedspruit suppliers day where suppliers get to meet each other and show each other their strengths and weaknesses on the golf course…all for a good cause because all the proceeds of the day go to CANSA.
We can’t wait. And of course, there will be massive prizes to be won amongst the suppliers. This massive event’s proceeds go towards CANSA in order to make a difference!

We’ve got a few other events on the calendar for next year, but we’ll tell you all about those closer to the time.
Why do we attend a Tradeshow / Exposition?
Unfortunately, with so many companies and people wanting to make “a quick buck” it is so easy to be misled and invest in timber that is not up to standard.
As one of the leading manufacturers of CCA Treated Timber in Southern Africa, we feel that it is our duty to get out there and educate consumers and buyers. When buying Treated Timber products, you should be sure that the product you are getting will live up to its expectations.
But unfortunately not all buyers know what to ask for, consequently, they end up being scammed and receive treated timber that is not up to standard.
What questions you should be asking when buying treated timber:
As an effort to educate, assist and uphold our company values, we have invested time into answering most of these questions on blog posts that are freely available. You can click on each point to read more regarding each issue.
- What type of treatment was used to treat the wood?
- Is the treatment suitable for the application for which you want to use it?
- Are the company’s products SABS approved?
- Does the company adhere to the NRSC’s regulations?
These are some of the most important questions when buying any type of treated timber. By asking these questions, you can expose the culprits who are distributing products that are not up to standard.
Always remember, if it sounds too good to be true. It usually is!
